Last night, Liam and I went to The Rooms for the evening. We were there until the building closed, and realized that we’d missed out on our opportunity to eat at their beautiful cafe. So sitting in the car on a blustery evening, we mulled over what would be a quick and easy late supper.

And that’s how we ended up at Peter’s Pizza.

We grabbed a slice each, and decided to split a fries, dressing and gravy. I wasn’t even planning to make it a part of my search but this fd&g was surprisingly good!

Peter's Pizza The best part was hands down the gravy. It was flavourful and it was all down through, coating all the fries. You don’t realize how important that is until you’re scraping fries against the bottom of the plate to get what remains of the light smattering of gravy. The dressing was adequately fluffy and while there wasn’t a whole lot of flavour to it, it wasn’t bad for a pizza joint. The fries were the only disappointing part. There was no crispness to them at all, and they were very soft. But once again, y’know, pizza joint.

A fancy numbers score for Peter’s Pizza:

  • Gravy: 4/5
  • Dressing: 3.5/5
  • Fries: 3/5

Overall, Peter’s Pizza gets a 70%. If you’re looking for a tourist-friendly, straight-out-of-the-bay meal, Peter’s is not the way to go. But if you’re in a pinch and absolutely have to have your fries, dressing and gravy, Peter’s is a good fix.
